After
twenty-plus years in the radio business, I guess I
qualify as a
"
veteran." There's certainly nothing else I'd rather
do, with the possible
exception of running a chili stand. I love to cook.
My other joys come
from the arts (music, dance, opera) and the company
of caring, thinking
people. (One would have to include Stephen and Willem
in this category,
no?) I was born to a Ukrainian farm family in northern
Saskatchewan, and
grew up there amidst the wild animals, swaying trees,
grain fields and
purple skies of the Canadian "outback."
My
home is never far from my mind,
although I've been resident in Montreal for several
years. I'm usually very
happy wherever I am, and I'm looking forward to
exploring more of the world
and sharing the adventures with Travel World listeners.
All my travels have
been on the North American continent, notably Newfoundland,
the Colorado and
Alberta Rockies, the islands off the coast of BC,
Pennsylvania Dutch Country
and the Florida Keys. My most-desired destinations
are Machu Picchu and the
Pyramids, Scotland and my ancestral home of Ukraine.
Perhaps those dreams
will come to pass.
