The travel bug bit Ella in the early 1980’s. She has been passionate about travel ever since her first trip to the Bahamas. “I like to try the culinary delights of each destination and sample the wines. I value meeting the local residents and learn about their lifestyles and language. It gives me the opportunity to expand my appreciation for the diversity of cultures worldwide.”

Another one of Ella’s passions is photography. She has always been a shutter bug happily clicking away during much of her leisure time. Many of her photos appear on the Travel World website. Her dilemma when packing for a trip is not trying to decide what clothes to bring, but what camera equipment should be taken along.

Ella holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Montreal’s Concordia University and is employed as an auditor. She has also followed language courses in French, German and Spanish in order to be able to converse on her travels. Her ability to eavesdrop in Portugese has been improving as well.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS:

Apart from travel and photography, Ella also participates in Kobudo (japanese sword fighting), enjoys the company of her cats, Max and Hope, cooking, music, languages and creative writing.

FAVOURITE FOODS:
Seafood and asian cuisine.

MEMORABLE TRIPS:

Portugal is a top spot me. Since my first visit in 1997, it has become one of my yearly travel destinations.
Other top destinations include: the Myvatn Lakes region in Iceland, Rhineland in Germany and Madeira.
Traveling to the Cree Nation of Chisasibi, James Bay, Quebec proved to be quite an experience of the traditional lifestyle that I so much enjoy learning about.

DREAM DESTINATIONS:

I want to visit a number of places off the beaten path such as the Faroe Islands, Lombok and Papua New Guinea. Fiji has been a dream trip for many years as has Tibet and Laos.
